Not to be confused with his step-brother - also called Gerald and born the year this Gerald died

Charlotte Kelly came out to Australia on a boat in the year 18... where on board she met and fell in love with a Dr Rowe they went to the Captain and asked him to perform a Marriage ceremony for them.
The Captain replied. "No , your parent/s came to me asking me to look after you which I gave them my word on. When we get to Australia you can do as you wish but until then you are under my care."
The ship stopped at Capetown , Africa, on the voyage where Charlotte and Dr Rowe took the opportunity and got married then came back on board and resumed the trip .
The Rowes went to Wandiligong where not long after Dr Rowe died or was killed .
